Coach Peggie
Hey!
I am Peggie and I am beyond humbled to join this amazing team of awesome humans!
I am a life-long fitness fanatic! I was in sports since I was 12 and as an adult, albeit way later in life, I took that drive and experience into an in-person training studio in 2010 when I was 46 years old. In 2015, at the age of 51, I became certified as a nutrition coach. The in person studio closed in 2020 - thanks covid - and I’ve been online since. But, I am now back in person teaching Spin classes and am in love with it.
I am passionate about nutrition and helping people realize it’s not too late to change and that they aren’t broken. I love helping them navigate through the BS that is diet culture that never seems to go away.
I believe all foods can fit as part of a healthy diet. I believe in eating the foods you love and integrating them into your life, as well as helping to lose fat and become healthier and more comfortable in your own skin.
Not only can I help you navigate the nutrition and fitness landscape, I do this through behavior change and mindset work. If you don’t change the inside, the outside will never change.
I have been active my whole life, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t struggle. I had an eating disorder when I was in high school. I struggled with body image and with my relationship with food for so many years.
In 2000 my dad died at the young age of 60 (which is my age now in 2024). He is part of the reason why I am so passionate about health and fitness. I watched him struggle with his health starting with quadruple bypass surgery when he was 48. I didn’t want to be like that.
In 2018, I started my quest to lose weight and get healthier. I had the workout part down, but the nutrition is where I struggled. I had never tracked my food and I knew that’s what I needed. I finally got tired of my own excuses. It took about a year and half to two years for me to lose almost 45 pounds. Once I lost the weight I noticed that I wasn’t as muscular as I thought. LOL. So I really had to focus on the strength training to really keep that muscle mass and to add some. I felt too thin and too depleted and I have gained back about 15 or so pounds and I am perfectly fine with that. I feel good here and I am okay with it.
I’ve walked the walk and done the things I needed to better my health. I am thriving at 60, with no excuses. It’s never too late and you’re never too old. The only limitations are the ones you put on yourself.
I also love cooking, hanging out with family and friends and teaching Spin classes. I have been married over 26 years, have 4 kids, 5 grandkids, 3 dogs and 2 cats. I am constantly learning. I love learning new things and finding ways to improve my coaching.
Fun fact: my husband and I knew each other about 8 months before we flew off to Vegas and got married.
I love coffee, tattoos, Cheez-Its and being alcohol free. I believe in balance. Balance your life and everything else falls into place.
I used to roast my own coffee with my $40 set up kit in my garage - heat gun, two wooden spoons, two fine mesh steel strainers and two stainless steel dog bowls and a small cooling fan.
